Our team was honored to be nominated for IAI Jakarta Awards 2024 in two ‘Public Building’ sub-categories. 

SDN Cengkareng Barat 07 is nominated for

Public Building, Educational Facilities sub-category, and

Senayan Bank DKI TransJakarta BRT Station is nominated for

Public Building, Transportation Facilities sub-category. 

Having two projects nominated, we also had the opportunity to showcase the projects’ models during Jakarta Architecture Festival on November 9-24, 2024 at Agora Mall, Thamrin Nine. Below is a brief description of the projects.

SDN Cengkareng Barat 07

SDN Cengkareng Barat 07 is one of six DKI Jakarta public schools revitalized in 2017. Its design was based on the prototype we developed for the Public School Design Prototype Competition in 2015.

The design aims to create an inclusive school environment while optimizing space for the surrounding community. The overlapping building massing gradually extends outward toward the top, providing natural shading for classrooms and corridors on the lower floors. This approach also creates a larger common space on the ground floor. Beyond school hours, the space is intended to serve as an open area for the local community, offering a safe place for children to play and for social interaction.

The second skin facade provides ample natural lighting and ventilation. 

It also serves as the school common area.

The school model was showcased in Jakarta Architecture Festival 2024 at Agora Mall, Thamrin Nine.

Senayan Bank DKI TransJakarta BRT Station

Previously known as Gelora Bung Karno BRT station, this BRT station is part of 2022 BRT station revitalization. It aims to improve connectivity, physical quality of the station, and also enhance Jakarta residents mobility by accommodating supporting facilities, such as toilets, prayer room, spots for commercial spaces. 

While the platform length was added, two existing trees adjacent to the existing bus platform are preserved inside the station as a respect for nature in urban settings.

Mohammad Danisworo’s IAI Jakarta Lifetime Achievements Award 2024

On this occasion, our founder, Mohammad Danisworo was also honored to receive IAI Jakarta Lifetime Achievement Awards 2024 for his contribution for more than five decades to architecture in his multiple roles, an architect, a mentor, and a pioneer in shaping Jakarta City. The award was accepted by Chico Danisworo, our Design Director.
