‘The Sanctuary’: Transforming Spaces for Work and Connection

Facility Support Building, an extension of Telkom Landmark Tower 1, marked a significant milestone with its Topping Off Ceremony on December 24, 2024. This event celebrates the completion of the building’s structural phase, bringing it closer to its anticipated completion in Q3 of 2025.

Redefining Workplace Inclusivity and Comfort

Facility Support Building of TLT Tower 1 reflects Telkom’s commitment to fostering a workplace that is inclusive, safe, and conducive to employee well-being. Designed to cater to the diverse needs of Telkomsel employees, the building will feature newly added amenities such as a praying facility, lounge, cafeteria, and a canteen accommodating local MSME merchants operating within the complex. These facilities aim to enhance the workplace experience, creating a welcoming environment for all employees and promoting collaboration and inclusivity.

Introducing ‘The Sanctuary’

Our team has introduced ‘The Sanctuary’ as the guiding vision for Facility Support Building of TLT Tower 1, where the employees who are working in the main office can take a break, ensuring the building serves as a place where work and well-being coexist seamlessly. This approach is implemented in various designs in the building, including architecture and facade design, landscape exploration, and the mosque interior.

An open air lounge connects the 6th and 7th floor, a space for gathering and interaction.

One of the main features that our team designed is Facility Support Building of TLT Tower 1’s three floors mosque on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor. Agitha Yusuf, our Architecture Specialist, explains the approach to designing this space:

“Designing a mosque goes beyond ensuring user comfort; it also carefully addresses technical aspects to align with Islamic principles and practices, ensuring worshippers feel secure and at peace in their worship. Is the qibla direction accurate? Are the sanitary wares compliant with Islamic guidelines, leaving no impurities on the body? Is the water used for ablution properly treated and refined? These critical questions arise during the design process to prevent any shortcomings that might undermine the spiritual experience of the users.”

This sensitivity in the design process ensures that spaces align with users' values, spaces that align with users' values and foster an environment where spiritual well-being, inclusivity, and comfort are prioritized. By thoughtfully designing features like prayer facilities aligned with Islamic principles, Facility Support Building ensures that employees feel supported in balancing their professional and personal lives, ultimately fostering a workplace culture grounded in harmony and respect.

With designs that focus on user needs, Facility Support Building of TLT Tower 1 embodies Telkom’s vision of a workplace that prioritizes both functionality and well-being. By integrating spiritual, social, and practical amenities, the project reflects a balanced approach to modern workplace design—creating spaces that are not only efficient but also foster connection, comfort, and inclusivity.

For the architectural team, Facility Support Building of TLT Tower 1 represents an opportunity to translate human-centered design principles into a meaningful and functional environment. From concept to execution, the project has been a collaborative process, ensuring that every element serves its purpose while complementing The Telkom Hub complex. As the building moves toward completion, it exemplifies how thoughtful design can enrich the workplace experience for all who use it.
